Lead Editor - Full Time

Locke and Stache is a Springfield, Missouri based video production company specializing in award winning commercials, music videos, documentaries, and films. We’re a small but mighty team of creatives, and we’re looking to add a Lead Editor to the team in Springfield. This role will be the primary Editor and lead post-production on all of our projects, ranging from corporate commercial work to more experimental projects.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Can you take a bunch of random footage that we shot in Cambodia and make a story out of it? Our Lead Editor is a crucial hire. While we’ve dabbled in the edit ourselves and worked with some talented freelancers, this role will currently be the primary editor on our team, with freedom to build this department from the ground up.

• Execute all Locke and Stache edits, from ingesting footage into Premiere to final export
• Build off of our current workflow and continue to educate the team on best practices
• Represent Locke and Stache in client-facing communication in a professional manner
• Exhibit basic understanding of good design principles
• Communicate and delegate to others (Sound Design, Composers, Colorists, VFX, Assistant Editors)
• Ability to work within confines of a commercial project as well as the interest in leading more experimental edits from time to time
• When needed, manage an Assistant Editor

THIS ROLE IS RIGHT FOR YOU IF:

• 5+ years experience in commercial video editing
• Proficiency in the Adobe Suite
• Understanding of workflow in collaboration with other specialists, such as sound, color and VFX
• Local to Springfield, MO or willing to move here (this place is as good as any)
• You would use any of these words to describe yourself: Storyteller, Organized, Team Player, Hardworking, Kind, Self-Starter
• Bonus if you have animation skills, especially 2D Logo Animations, VFX, or the interest in teaching yourself if you have a slow work day
